Jonesing for a Harris Tweed kilt jacket!

I just got an email from Catherine Campbell, Harris Tweed weaver, letting me know that the kilt jacket and vest she was having made for me is ready to be shipped. Along with this jacket I'm also having her send me enough cloth in the same pattern to make a kilt for myself, with the goal being a full tweed kilt suit.

Of course I selected this pattern because it tones well with some of my other tartan kilts, so I intend to get a lot of use out of this jacket & vest.
Now that I know it is on the way, I can hardly wait. It's like Christmas all over again!
(Yes, even those of us in the business can get excited about getting new "stuff"!)

That's very sharp Matt! And, yes, we know that "you in the buisness" get excited for new stuff too. Of course you do. You're just one of us with the job the rest of us wish we had. :-)

Thats a nice looking jacket and waistcoat. How would we go about contacting her. Does she have a website?

Heath,

This jacket & vest were to be a model for a new line I was hoping to carry in the Museum gift shop. Unfortunately, due to a buy-out of the mill who supplies the Harris Tweed yarns, there is some question as to the availbility of the cloth. And until I can be certain of cloth avaibility, I can't really offer them for sale as part of our regular line.

However, if anyone is interested, email me -- I can send you scans of some of the cloth samples and if I can confirm that fabric is available in that pattern, I would be glad to offer the jacket & vest on an individual basis. Cost is likely to be around $450, including vest.

Thanks for the info. I hope that it is something that you will be able to carry in the future. Although I'm not in a position to purchase anything at the moment, that is a good price for something of that quality.
